Today is Dad's Birthday

Today is B.T. Hanna's birthday?
It's interesting to me how a person can be dead but we still remember them on their birthdays. I guess it's because I have had more years remembering (and sometimes forgetting) Dad's birthday than I have remembering his deathday.
Dad died in May (can't remember the year). It was final exam week and I remember the first person I told he had died was Philip Shirley; we were standing outside the annex at RFHS.
I have all these vivid memories, but I can't remember the day it happened.
I miss him..... a lot.

Bill was a very locked-in person, a product of his upbringing I'm sure. I loved him so much when we married, but I was terribly young and spoiled and didn't make enough of an effort to understand him or get through to him. It was almost a relief to me when we divorced because that love I had felt for him when we married was gone. Then afterwards when he remarried, I thoroughly resented the fact that he could never find time for his two little children who loved him and missed him. I know he loved them. I'm just glad that he found somebody who had a ax big enough to break the ice. But don't forget he was a really good guy, just not a good guy for me.
Happy Birthday, Bill.

......uhh, what are you talking about Laurel? I don't do the 12 Days of Cat every month; that would be a little too self serving even for me.
