Baby David

My brother David was born on this day... a long time ago. He was a handsome baby and an adoreable child. Carlene still has the "curl" she cut off the top of his curley head when he was a babe. You can probably see the beginning of the infamous curl in the first photo.
What is interesting to me however is the last photo. It is a picture of Baby David and Baby Catherine, but it looks like Matthew (David's son) is holding me. The power of genetics amazes me.

Happy Birthday David!

P.S. Does it looks like Baby David is trying to crush my head?
Nah, I'm being paranoid, he would never do anything like that.

Oh David. The baby of the family for ten years until Catherine came along. David was as happy and excited to have her with us as any of the rest of us regardless of what he says now. David was the first child that I had a specialist taking care of me. Bill and Glory were delivered by a general practioner, but my labor was induced with David by a genecologist (sp). I don't have time to go look that up. I remember by my doctor told me. Your baby is ready to be delivered. We will induce on Tuesday. I deliver all of my babies on Tuesday. So Tuesday, December 30th I went to Mercy Hospital in Brownsville and had David. When we brought him home, his Dad was working a ten hour shift and when he would get off work, he would come home and turn the covers back and just look at him. He was so proud. So was I. Happy Birthday David. My love for you has just grown over the years.

I ADORED David. He was SO CUTE!! He had the cutest curls. I was appalled when dad gave him a crew cut. They didn't just cut off his curls. Oh no! They practically shaved his head as far as I was concerned. It's hard to believe, but he was.:) I use to crawl in his crib and play with him. David was a lover baby. He liked to be held and loved on him. If only he'd let us get away with that today. I LOVE YOU, BABY DAVE!! Big sister, Golly
