Coffee Talk

After much anticipation, Starbucks has made its way to Rockport. Contrary to what most of you might assume, I do not go there every day.
Since it has opened however, I have learned something about myself that came as a surprise. My favorite cup of coffee is not a tall latte' with two white sugars from Starbucks. Instead, my favorite is the cup of Folgers (black) I make myself every morning. For me, it truly is "the best part of waking up".
So, tell me, what is your favorite cup of coffee and who makes it?

Do NOT let this post deter you from continuing to send me Starbucks gift cards. And to those of you who have already, THANK YOU!

Starbucks Grande Latte with 2 Splendas and a Snickers bar (the 2 Splendas cancel out the Snickers)

Vente Quad Breve Latte without a doubt. There is no Starbucks in the area where I live, so a cup of Starbucks coffee is a real treat. But for every day Vente is too BIG and Breve is too fattening. So on the rare occasion when I can have a cup from Starbucks, bet your bippy its going to be a VQBL.

I'm with you Catherine... I like my morning cup of Yuban, but I also can't stop thinking about coffee light frappuccinos with whipped cream.

Tall vanilla latte with extra vanilla and cinnamon sprinkled across the foam. Drining that while getting a pedicure in the massage chair is one of life's luxuries. suelaza

I don't seem to be able to spell or type. Drinking the coffee is much more fun than drining the coffee. suelaza

Cathern, I will answer this question the way I have been answering it for years.... I was at a church gathering and a very Christian/uptight man asked me if I'd like a cup of coffee. I said, "yes, thank you." He then asked, "how do you like it?" For shock value, I replied, "I like my coffee like I like my women....sweet and black!!" By the way, I do like my coffee, black and sweet. As of 2000, it's got to be decaf. I also like drinking coffee with my mother-in-law, Charlotte. On my most recent visit to MN, she agreed to drink decaf with me. That lasted about two hours and then she was back to her full caff, all day long. I also love to visit my folks and drink coffee because they buy a can of Folgers before I get there. They make me a pot right after they make their first pot and drink it with me....sweet, huh? Also, one of my earliest childhood memories is drinking coffee with tons of sugar and cremora or coffee mate with my natural mother. Not many great memories with her, but drinking coffee is one of them. OK, one more coffee memory....who knew this would push so many of my Yearmon buttons? In High School, it was cool waking up and going to the kitchen and my mom would have at least 3 cups lined up with names and pre-coffee condiments in each of our favorite cups...and we all liked it differently. OK, one more....I don't believe in wasting money on expensive cups of coffee. If I'm buying, I like to go to 7-11 and make my own....with two shots of hazelnut, one of vanilla, a sprinkle of cinnamon and 2 packs of splenda. OK, I'm done....and all this without caffeine....and the Christian man, he laughed!!

Well my favorite cup of coffee is, believe it or not, from the chain of convenient stores/gas stations Qwik Trip, a French Vanilla Cappuccino. There, I said it. The same as Yearman, I do not believe in spending 6 bucks for a cup of coffee. At QT, I spend $1.08, thank you!

It is nice to know that the Yearmon nut hasn't fallen far from the Yearmon tree. You go, Jsa....making yo' daddy proud!!

Speaking of QT....we went to a Ranger's game and we were way ahead of schedule so Jillian took us to her favorite place (QT) and we ATE DINNER prior to going to a Ranger's game. Jillian turned me on to her favorite (cheap) hot dog. Hot dog, Dawg!!

I like regular coffee, I,m not in to those fancy smarmy coffee drinks you guys get from Star Bucks. I tried Star Bucks once and the coffee tasted burned or something. My favorite coffee is the coffee someone else makes and is free, no sugar, no cream. Now thats what I'm talkin about.

This is an easy one. My Me-My (grandma)started me on it when I was very young. My Me-My and Daw would sit outside with all of their friends and all my aunts every afternoon after school, my cousins and I wanted to be a part of that group so bad.

My Me-My solved the problem by buying us some very "cool" mugs and filling them with a "cool" surprise. Hey we were kids! It would have been child endagerment to make it a hot surprise.
Here it is :
1/4 sugar
2/4 milk
1/4 coffee
...............perfection!
